In 2012, Eammon and I fulfilled our dream of moving to the Isle of Wight to build our own property business. With a love for self-catering holidays and a fondness for the island, we eagerly embraced the opportunity when Eammon stepped down from his role as a senior charity director to focus on property development.

We were fortunate to find a derelict Victorian hotel that was perfect for conversion. Eammon dedicated the next few years to working with architects and builders, transforming the property into Dove Court, the modern, comfortable holiday apartments you see today. Our vision was to create spacious, stylish accommodation—the kind of place we’d love to stay in ourselves. During this time, we also developed our sister property, The Seascape, located in Luccombe, where we were lucky enough to live above.

Dove Court opened its doors in 2018, and for many years Eammon took great pride in overseeing the running and maintenance of the apartments, while I balanced my Civil Service role with managing bookings and marketing, supported by our partners at Digital Eaze.

Although Eammon is no longer with us, having sadly passed away in 2022, his dedication and passion remain at the heart of everything we do. I continue to run the business in his memory, committed to preserving the welcoming, relaxing atmosphere he worked so hard to create.
